## Quick answer

React with Vite usually generates a static interface that must be published with its build assets. Authentication, database access and private AI calls require a backend. VITE_ variables are embedded in browser code and must not contain secrets.

An AI can quickly generate a dashboard, a catalog, or the interface of a SaaS. The visual result helps validate the idea, but does not demonstrate that data, permissions, and publication are ready. In a React project with Vite, the production work begins when finding out what runs in the browser, which depends on an API and what information needs to remain on the server.

Process overview

- Interface build

- Delivery by web server

- Authenticated API

- External data and services

## Turn the demo into an application map

Browse the interface and mark each action: login, recording, upload, report, payment and AI response. Identify which screens use fixed data and which query real services. A table filled with examples does not represent a database; a button that changes the local state does not prove that the change was persisted.

Imagine an AI-generated service system. The interface can list calls and suggest answers, but the application still needs to verify who belongs to each company, register changes and limit the use of the model. Write three complete journeys and test them with two different accounts. This validation is worth more than publishing all screens at the same time.

## Understand Vite's build

Vite documentation describes the production of a publishing bundle and the dist directory as the default output. For a static frontend, send the build result to the webroot. Vite is a development tool and build; its preview command is not the application production server.

The example below presupposes usual scripts from a Vite project with npm and lockfile. Check out package.json before running. A playable installation allows distinguishing an error in the code from a difference between computer dependencies and the publishing environment.

Local frontend check

```
npm ci
npm run build
npm run preview
```

## Protect the variables and prepare the API

In Vite, variables with VITE_ prefix are accessible to the client code and enter the bundle. Use this mechanism for public settings such as the API address, and never for the key of an AI provider, SQL password, or a payment secret. Changing a build variable normally requires generating and publishing a new version.

The interface must call its authenticated backend. This backend receives the request, validates limits, and consults the external service with the key stored on the server. Also set allowed source, failure handling, and response time. Displaying a clear error message helps the client and allows investigating the incident without showing credentials.

## Publish interface to WordPane

Create or connect the infrastructure in the client area. In the control panel, prepare the custom application and domain, check webroot and publish the dist content by File Manager, SFTP or its artifact stream. The installation of Node on the production server is not required for a fully static interface generated in another environment.

If the project uses SPA navigation, testing only the home page is not enough. Open a route as /clients/123 directly into a new window. When routing needs fallback for index.html, set it to the web server according to the stack. Do not copy a .htaccess rule for Nginx: each server has its own mechanisms.

## Choose backend by requirement, not by frontend name

React can communicate with a PHP backend, Node or an external service. In WordPane, the Node.js environment is in beta and the PHP catalog offers other possibilities. List of the database engine, runtime version, continuous processes and storage before deciding. Frontend React does not automatically require MongoDB or a vector database.

If the AI tool has generated integration with a specific service, preserve the authentication and data contract or plan the replacement. Exporting the repository does not automatically migrate users, buckets, functions and tables from the original provider. Make a relationship of these services and check which ones will remain external.

## Test before inviting the first customers

- Check login, access recovery, and session closure.

- Record a log, reload the page and confirm persistence.

- Use two accounts and confirm data isolation.

- Open internal links directly and test a non-existent page.

- Simulate API failure and AI usage limit.

- Check out the published bundle to make sure it doesn't contain secrets.

- Keep the previous version and test site recovery.

## Interface routes and API routes need different responses

In an SPA, the browser can open /clientes/123 and let the React router choose the screen. The server must know how to handle this direct navigation. A fallback to index.html can resolve interface routes, but must not turn a nonexistent API endpoint into a successful HTML response.

Separate file paths, frontend and API. A missing JavaScript file needs to return identifiable error; return index.html instead usually causes module or MIME failure. For an API, preserve codes like 401, 403 and 404 and a client-consistent error format.

## Example: an assistant that requires login

The user sends a question to the project API. The API checks the session, authorizes access to that user's documents and only then calls the AI provider. The frontend receives the result allowed; it does not receive the provider's key or itself decides which documents can enter the context.

Also test the request outside the interface, with a missing or expired session. Hiding a button in React does not prevent access to the endpoint. CORS controls which origins can read responses in the browser, but does not replace server-side authentication or authorization.

## Acceptance criteria for leaving the demonstration

A screen working with simulated data is a start. Delivery needs to prove that data persists, errors are explained and the user does not receive confirmations of failed operations. Include API unavailability and network interruption in the test.

In WordPane, confirm where the frontend will be served and where each backend service will be executed. If the project is only static, Node may be required only in the build. If there is Node backend, confirm the process and stack requirements before publication.

- Refreshing an internal route keeps the correct screen visible.

- An expired session leads to a clear login action without revealing data.

- A failure in sending does not generate duplicate records after another attempt.

- No private key appears in the published JavaScript files.

- Logs allow you to relate an interface error to the backend request.

## Plan updates and consumption

Integrate Git when this option is available in the application. Set where build happens and which branch represents production. A useful automatic update includes a published and validated result; just downloading source code does not complete Vite's deploy. Avoid mixing files manually sent with automatic updates without a defined procedure.

The WordPane panel helps gather domain, files, logs, and environment recovery. In the client area, keep track of hourly consumption and operations. Use a real test to scale the infrastructure; API costs, external authentication, and templates are independent. This arrangement helps move from the visual prototype to an organized operation without hiding the application's responsibilities.
