Migrating an application involves more than copying files. Addresses, permissions, PHP extensions and database connections need to continue working. Apache deserves attention when the project already depends on that environment and you want to reduce simultaneous changes during the transfer.

Review what the application actually uses

Apache admits directory configuration through .htaccess when corresponding directives are allowed. Working depends on server rules: the existence of the file does not mean that any instruction will be accepted.

List redirects, friendly URLs, authentication, and file restrictions. Also compare the PHP version and its extensions with the source environment. A well-prepared migration preserves the behavior your users already know.

A catalogue for different businesses

At WordPane, Apache offers the catalog's ten PHP applications, including PrestaShop stores, Moodle courses, and Nextcloud collaboration. The environment allows MySQL or MariaDB. The software chosen continues to require configuration, maintenance, and compatibility of versions.

For an existing portal, a possible strategy is to migrate first with current resources, check streams and then introduce improvements. This makes it easier to distinguish a migration failure from a problem in new functionality.

Add AI per integration

A PHP application can call an external service to suggest a product description, summarize a text or sort a request. The result must enter a review stream, especially before publishing or changing business data.

Separate time-consuming tasks from the visitor response. A queued processing, when implemented and configured, helps prevent the page from waiting for multiple external calls. Set size, cost, and retention limits in the application.

Pass with Acceptance Criteria

  • Test login, forms, purchase or registration according to business.
  • Check out redirects and URLs already released.
  • Validate reading and writing in the database and access to uploads.
  • Plan backup, test and DNS change before transfer.
