Next.js can compose a public portal, an authenticated area, and a backend for an AI product. Before migrating an application generated by a code wizard, find out which of these capabilities it actually uses. The same repository may require very different hosting paths depending on rendering, routes, and associated services.

Choose between static files and Node process

Official documentation shows deploy on Node server and static export between options. A project exported with output: export generates files to serve without the Next active process. This output does not contain all server execution features. A SaaS with dynamic routes and message processing may need the Node server.

Read the route code and register what you need to perform for each request. Pre-rendered pages, authentication, uploads, and endpoints should not be treated as a single file package. The first hiring decision depends on this inventory, rather than on the appearance of the interface or AI tool that generated the project.

Prepare a reproducible publication

Check out the build and production script on package.json, version Node and lockfile. In a conventional project with Next server, the flow is to install dependencies, generate build and start the application. Test first in a validation environment. Do not use the development command to maintain customer service.

In the static case, publish the final output specified by the project configuration. In the case of Node, preserve the files required for execution and confirm the procedure your version requires. The standalone mode has its own organization; do not mix instructions from it with a project published by next start.

Example for project whose start script runs the Next production server
npm ci
npm run build
npm run start

Check compatibility in WordPane environment

WordPane's stack Node.js is in beta. Before you follow, confirm runtime, runtime command, internal port, variables and process controls offered. Next's self-hosting orientation recommends a reverse proxy in front of the server. The implementation needs to consider the chosen environment and application features.

There is no Next.js installer confirmed in the current catalog. It is a project of its own, with compatible publication and configuration. If the application uses functions, storage or Vercel-specific cache, list these dependencies. A VPS can host the process, but does not automatically play the services associated with the source provider.

Build AI integration in the backend

A chat stream must validate user and organization before consulting data or calling the template. Save the key on the server and apply limits on account. For gradually transmitted responses, streaming testing all the way: app, proxy and browser. Duplicate messages or reconnections also need treatment.

Set a behavior for delay and unavailability. For example, a long report can be created as a task, with status tracking, instead of holding the client's navigation. The choice of architecture belongs to the product; hiring a larger VPS does not correct a routine without limit or a missing authorization.

Separate status and publication

Identify database, uploads, sessions, and job data. They should not disappear because the source directory has been replaced. Plan a backup routine that includes these components, and test restore in a separate environment. Revert commit does not automatically undo a database migration.

If you distribute the project to multiple processes or servers, evaluate the cache, session and consistency of the published version. Start with a configuration that you can explain and observe. Zooming the architecture before measuring the traffic adds variables to the error investigation.

Use an acceptance test for each release

  • Open public page and authenticated route directly.
  • Confirm isolation between two organizations.
  • Validate creation, editing and deletion of test data.
  • Stop an AI call and check the interface status.
  • Test resumption of process and connection to database.
  • Confirm logs without unnecessary tokens, passwords or sensitive content.
  • Test return to previous version with compatible data structure.

The advantage of organizing the operation by the panel

WordPane offers a way to choose infrastructure, track its creation, and manage the environment. Git features, files, domains, logs, and backups, as available in the application, help keep publishing work in a place that is recognizable to the team.

Hourly billing allows you to consult server consumption on balance. The AI model and external services budget remains separate. Send an architecture description if there is streaming, workers or requirements outside the catalog. This facilitates a proposal aligned with what the software needs, without promising generic compatibility for every Next project.
