A project can have a public website, API, and processing tasks with different rhythms. Nginx helps organize the HTTP entry of this architecture. The benefit is to define how each request reaches the right service, with clear traffic rules.

Web server and proxy have different roles

Nginx can serve static files and forward requests to an application. In WordPane's PHP environment, PHP processing is part of the stack. In Node.js environment, Nginx acts as proxy for the JavaScript application. Choosing Nginx in PHP stack does not transform the project into Node.js.

This separation allows you to think about public access and processing independently. A file route may have different policies from an authenticated route that consults customer data.

An example with service assisted by AI

Imagine a support area that receives the question, query authorized documents and calls an AI provider. The backend keeps the keys out of the browser, validates the user and logs the operation. Nginx forwards the request; business logic and call to the template continue in the application.

If the response is transmitted gradually, the configuration needs to consider streaming, limits and timeouts. Validate the full path before offering the customer resource. A long request should not block all other streams.

Useful features for websites and APIs

  • Organization of routes to separate site and services.
  • Delivery of files with rules appropriate to the content.
  • A consistent public entry for the application.
  • Log diagnosis and real behavior measurement.

Prepare to hire

Tell us which services should be public, whether there is continuous communication and what the expected response duration is. Include the access peaks and the database used. This information helps you choose memory, processing, and configuration.

In WordPane, you can start with the Nginx catalog for PHP or evaluate the Node.js stack in beta. Advanced proxy, cache, and integration features must be confirmed for the project; they are not automatically activated just by choosing the technology.

Choose the project environment

Compare the plans or send the application requirements to the WordPane team.
