The choice of the environment starts with the application you want to publish. A blog, store and API with AI may need different combinations of web server, runtime and database. Knowing these differences avoids hiring resources that do not solve the project problem.
Start with the app and the database
At WordPane, Apache and Nginx they offer the catalog of ten PHP applications, including WordPress, PrestaShop, Moodle and Nextcloud. These environments allow you to choose MySQL or MariaDB. OpenLiteSpeed offers WordPress and phpMyAdmin in the installer. The Node.js stack, in beta, uses Nginx as proxy and features MongoDB in the environment.
This list describes the current installer. A manual installation may have other requirements and requires evaluation. Before hiring, write down the runtime version, the required database, the volume of files and the processes that need to continue running.
Link the stack to your goal
- Apache: evaluate when the PHP application and its rules have been designed for this environment.
- Nginx: consider for PHP applications and to organize access to services by proxy.
- OpenLiteSpeed: evaluate for WordPress with a compatible cache strategy.
- Node.js: consider for APIs, integrations and JavaScript applications; confirm requirements during beta.
What changes when the application uses AI
An wizard calling an external AI API needs to receive messages, authenticate users, protect keys and control calls costs. The template can run outside your server. Running a local template already requires specific dimensioning, which may include GPU; the presence of Node.js or PHP does not guarantee that ability.
For example, a PHP store can keep your catalog in the SQL database and delegate the question rating to an external integration. You do not need to migrate the entire store to experience this feature.
Choose with a small test
Publish a test version, run the important pages and register response time, consumption and errors. Compare behavior with and without cache and simulate the flow of AI. This validation guides hiring better than a preference for technology name.
WordPane brings together stack choice and panel management. If your project combines databases, automations and requirements outside the catalog, describe this architecture in the briefing to receive a proposal aligned to use.
