Server Settings
PHP, time zone, SSH, Redis, extensions, default pages, agent and monitoring.
The procedures below take place inside the server. The English labels help locate the controls on the screen. Account, balance and hiring belong to the client area.
Adjust name, hostname, PHP CLI and time zone
Where to find: Settings → General
General Settings brings together Server Name, Hostname, PHP-CLI Version, Timezone and Auto-Reload OpenLiteSpeed. PHP CLI executes commands and may be different from PHP used by the site.
- Open Settings → General.
- Check Server Name and Hostname before editing.
- Choose PHP-CLI Version between installed versions. Use Services to install a required version.
- Set Timezone according to server operation and check your schedules.
- Review Auto-Reload OpenLiteSpeed, when present, to recharge the settings of this technology.
- Click Update and check the saved values. Test affected commands and applications.
Configure SSH and security updates
Where to find: Settings → Security → Server Security
The section brings together SSH Port, Enable Root Login, Enable Password Login and Enable Security Updates. These settings are from the server, as well as user access.
- Check if you have a recoverable administrative connection before changing SSH.
- To exchange SSH Port, first release the new port in the server and provider firewall.
- Set the use of root and password according to environment policy. Before disabling password, test a valid key with the appropriate user.
- Review Enable Security Updates and Schedule For Security Updates. The screen offers 12 hours, daily, weekly, monthly and Custom.
- Click Update and test a new connection without terminating the recovery session.
- Update the port to your SFTP/SSH customers and automations.
To enable user access, see SFTP/SSH per application.
Review Redis and database administrative password
Where to find it: Settings → Security → Redis Settings / Update Database Root Password
Redis presents Max Memory, Redis Password and Maxmemory Policy. The database root password is another configuration, separated from the application credentials.
- Check which projects use Redis and memory capacity before changing limits.
- Review Max Memory and Maxmemory Policy according to the expected cache behavior.
- If you change Redis Password, update all consumers and test your connections.
- Save by Update from the Redis section and check out the result.
- To change the database's administrative password, use Update Database Root Password, enter Password and Confirm Password and save by Update from this section.
- Keep the new credentials protected and check out the dependent administrative tools.
Manage PHP and Node.js extensions
Where to find: Settings → Manage PHP Extensions / Node.js
The list of extensions has search, installed/uninstalled filter and PHP version selection. The Node.js page provides installation when runtime is not present.
- Open Manage PHP Extensions and select the PHP version used by the project.
- Look for the name of the extension and check the installation status.
- Use the install or remove action only for the chosen version.
- Wait for the result and test the functionality of the application that requires extension.
- In Node.js, see the status before Install. The panel informs installation of the LTS version offered by it.
- After installing, check out version and compatibility with the project.
Customize the default pages
Where to find: Settings → Web Server Pages
There are HTML editors for Web Server Default Page, shown when accessing IP, and Application Disable Page, shown when an application is disabled.
- Open Web Server Pages and identify which of the two pages you want to change.
- Preserve a copy of the current HTML.
- Edit the contents of the corresponding editor.
- Click Update from the correct section.
- Test the page in the appropriate context, without disabling a production application just to check the look.
Consult Agent and Log Monitoring Suite
Where to find: Settings → Agent / Log Monitoring Suite
The agent connects the server to the panel. Log Monitoring Suite expands log analysis and has its own version and removal.
- In Agent, check out Current Installed Agent Version and the update referral available.
- When there is an update, plan the operation and use the action presented; wait for reconnection and validate the panel.
- In Log Monitoring Suite, check the installed version and update status.
- In the application, open Log Monitoring Suite to see indicators and traffic charts.
- If there is no data, check installation, period and existence of registered traffic.
- Use Remove only if you want to uninstall the component after evaluating impact on monitoring.
Change control panel password
Where to find: Settings → Control Panel → Change Password
This password belongs to the server management panel; it is not the password of an SQL user, WordPress user or necessarily the client area.
- Open Control Panel.
- Fill in New Password and Confirm Password.
- Review and click Update.
- Save the credentials in the protected location used by your team and test access.
